Economic Impact Payment Information

The Treasury Department and the Internal Revenue Service have begun distribution of economic impact payments. Funds are being distributed automatically, with no action required for most taxpayers.

If the IRS has your banking information on file for direct deposit, or if you receive other government benefits such as Social Security payments electronically, you should receive an automatic direct deposit. However, some taxpayers may need to submit a simple tax return to receive the economic impact payment.

Information from the IRS about eligibility, how payments will be sent, and more is now available:

Taking advantage of the IRS Direct Deposit is the fastest way to get your funds if you qualify. Find your routing and account number in Mobile Banking under each account or by looking on your paper checks. Learn more here

To check the status of payments or provide banking account information, the IRS has a new Get My Payment Application now available.
