Hancock Whitney Names Robert Stuart, III as Greater Baton Rouge Regional President

Hancock Whitney has named bank senior vice president Robert Stuart, III as the company’s regional president for Greater Baton Rouge.

As regional president for the market, Stuart will lead Hancock Whitney’s commercial, middle market, and corporate banking growth and strategy as bankers serve clients and businesses in communities throughout Greater Baton Rouge.

“We are confident that Robert’s strategic vision and commitment to excellence will foster continued growth and innovation throughout Greater Baton Rouge,” said Hancock Whitney Senior Regional President Robert Schneckenburger. “His deep industry expertise, strong local ties, and proven leadership make him exceptionally well-suited to guide our regional strategy.” Stuart assumed the regional president role on July 28, 2025, as Senior Group Manager Jeff Gould transitions toward retirement in September 2025.

A dedicated member of the Baton Rouge community, Stuart began his banking career in 2012 after earning a Bachelor of Science degree in finance and a Master of Business Administration degree from Louisiana State University. Stuart has more than 13 years of experience in commercial banking, serving the last six with Hancock Whitney.
