What balance does the bank use to authorize my ATM and everyday debit card transactions?

We use your available balance to determine whether to authorize transactions for payment and pay everyday debit card and ATM transactions. Generally, we will not authorize and pay ATM and one-time debit card transactions if your account does not have a sufficient available balance to cover such transactions. However, when your available balance is not sufficient to authorize the transaction, we may also authorize or decline such transactions based upon your available balance plus funds that may be available to you under our Standard Overdraft Services which together may be sufficient to cover such transactions. These services include; (i) Overdraft Consideration which is available for eligible consumer accounts that are opted-in to Overdraft Consideration for ATM and everyday debit card transactions; and (ii) Overdraft Protection Plans, more specifically, lines of credit which we may agree to link to a consumer account.
