Welcome to the Markets and Economic Update, provided by the Hancock Whitney Asset Management team as an informational resource for clients and individuals who are interested in hearing our perspectives on current economic issues.

Markets and Economic Update

This month’s call begins with a discussion regarding 2nd quarter economic growth, touching on the impacts from the reopening of states and the current civil unrest, and concluding with how the second half of 2020 may play out.

From there the discussion shifts to updates on COVID-19 that include vaccine and anti-viral treatment progress and insights on the impact that reopening of states has had on the numbers of confirmed cases.

Our dialogue then examines the stock market’s progress since the lows of March 23rd, and if the market has gotten too far ahead of itself.

Finally, we end with news on fixed income markets.
