The Coronavirus and its effect on markets is the main topic of discussion on this month's call:  

  • Richard Chauvin starts by updating listeners with the latest news on confirmed cases, recoveries and fatalities. He also provides some historical perspective on previous epidemics.
  • Paul Teten then discusses the economic disruption stemming from the virus, starting with recent manufacturing data from China and expectations for a temporary growth slowdown in Germany and the U.S.
  • Martin Sirera discusses the stock market selloff and likelihood of continued volatility.
  • Jeff Tanguis then discusses the latest in the bond market, starting with an explanation of the all-time low Treasury yields. Jeff also discusses the recent activity of The Fed and global central banks.
