We lead off the call with a review of some of the latest developments on COVID-19 treatments and the possibility of an effective vaccine being developed in the near term.

Social Distancing and Shelter in Place initiatives hampered growth in the U.S. in the latter part of the 1st quarter. The team discusses the impact of these initiatives in the 1st and 2nd quarters and attempts to lay out a scenario for what the economy may look like in the 2nd half of the year.

After a turbulent March, stocks rebounded significantly, producing the best monthly return since 1987 in April. We provide an analysis of a stock market that appears optimistic about the future despite some difficult earnings reports.

Lastly, bonds experienced a pretty quiet April due to the Fed’s emergency efforts, but concerns are rising in the municipal bond market as state and local governments struggle with declining tax revenues.
