Welcome to the Markets and Economic Update, provided by the Hancock Whitney Asset Management team as an informational resource for clients and individuals who are interested in hearing our perspectives on current economic issues.

Markets and Economic Update

Richard Chauvin starts with the latest conflicting attempts to both de-escalate and ratchet up the U.S. vs. China trade war, the limited effects on oil prices of the drone attack on the Saudi’s oil facilities, and what to expect from the Brexit negotiations now that the deadline is a month away.

Politics aside, Paul Teten takes a look at the numbers…GDP, recession concerns, and where to go from here.

Jeff Tanguis talks about the Fed’s activity, what a split vote means, and what is being done to prevent a recession.

We started September strong, but gave up a bit at the end. Martin Sirera discusses what happened, and what we can expect to see in October.
