Hancock Whitney honored for Outstanding Diversity in Business

The Houston Business Journal (HBJ) recently celebrated companies that have shown exceptional commitment to promoting practices that advance diversity and inclusion in the workplace, as well as in business leadership. Hancock Whitney was proud to be selected as an “Outstanding Diverse Organization” Honoree in the small company category. This is an incredible achievement to be recognized among thousands of businesses in the Greater Houston community.

First introduced in 2017, the Diversity in Business Awards program honors organizations and individuals who bolster equality across areas of diversity, including age, disability, gender, sexual orientation, race, and religion. Hancock Whitney was honored in a virtual presentation on March 25th and will be featured in a special HBJ publication.

Liz Hefler reached a bit of a crossroads during her time as an economics major at the University of Virginia.

Like many of her classmates, Hefler strongly considered working in the investment sector after graduation. But, a less-than-ideal internship experience made her question that career path and wonder what was next.

The racial wealth gap remains a stark reality, underscoring the need for concerted efforts to foster economic empowerment and uplift Black Americans across the country.
