Gulfport’s John Freeman Promoted to Commercial Lender at Hancock Whitney

(March 9, 2021)—Hancock Whitney—one of America’s strongest, safest banks and the largest bank headquartered in Mississippi—has promoted local financial services professional John Freeman as a commercial banker with the company’s Mississippi Gulf Coast commercial banking division.
A vice president and 14-year associate of the Hancock Whitney organization, Freeman first joined the bank’s lending services team and soon advanced as a lending services analyst responsible for the commercial loans document tracking and quality assurance departments. He served as a credit analyst before moving to his most recent position as manager of the bank’s Mississippi commercial lending portfolio.

Charleston, South Carolina, native Freeman earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from The Citadel. He also graduated from the Mississippi School of Banking. A Gulfport resident for 16 years, he has served on the Cinema by the Shore and the American Red Cross Biloxi Advisory Board. Freeman is a member of the Gulfport Yacht Club.
