GULFPORT, Miss. (March 9, 2021)—Hancock Whitney—one of America’s strongest, safest banks and the largest bank headquartered in Mississippi—has promoted local financial services professional John Freeman as a commercial banker with the company’s Mississippi Gulf Coast commercial banking division.
A vice president and 14-year associate of the Hancock Whitney organization, Freeman first joined the bank’s lending services team and soon advanced as a lending services analyst responsible for the commercial loans document tracking and quality assurance departments. “John Freeman has been an integral part of our Mississippi lending teams since 2007. We are extremely pleased to promote him as a commercial banker who can share his professional experience and expertise and his community knowledge to help our local commercial clients capitalize on opportunities evolving as the overall economy begins to recharge from pandemic impacts,” said Hancock Whitney Mississippi Gulf Coast Market President Brent Fairley.
Charleston, South Carolina, native Freeman earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from The Citadel. He also graduated from the Mississippi School of Banking. A Gulfport resident for 16 years, he has served on the Cinema by the Shore and the American Red Cross Biloxi Advisory Board. Freeman is a member of the Gulfport Yacht Club.
